Also members of RHCP and Metallica in the sequel to This is Spinal Tap

A few months after the news that Paul McCartney and Elton John will participate in the sequel to “This Is Spinal Tap,” Deadline reports that other musicians will take part in the new chapter of the film directed in 1984 by the director Rob Reiner starring Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer.

According to what was reported by the film information site, the cast of the sequel, announced as early as May 2022 and of which filming has begun in New Orleans, will include also Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Lars Ulrich of Metallica. The new film will also see Fran Drescher returns as the band's publicist Bobbi Flekmanand will include new faces such as those of Don Lake, John Michael Higgins, Jason Acuña, Nina Conti, Griffin Matthews, Kerry Godliman, Chris Addison, Brad Williams and Paul Shaffer. At the moment, however, Plot details are not yet known and what roles these new cast members will play.

As already communicated, in addition to directing the new film, Reiner will once again take on the role of director Marty DiBergi. While McKean, Guest and Shearer will all return as the elusive metal band, they will therefore reprise the roles of, respectively, David St. Hubbins, Nigel Tufnel and Derek Smalls.
