Adele: “Now the last 10 shows, then you won’t see me for long”
“I still have ten shows to do, but once those are over I won’t see you for an incredibly long time. But I will keep you all in my heart.“: this is how Adele closed her residency in Munich last night. The British pop diva confirmed, during her last show held in front of the audience in the German city, her intention to take a break. She had already spoken about it on the eve of the residency, but in that case she limited herself to speaking only of a break from the recording industry (not exactly news, for someone who had let six years pass between her last album and the most recent one): “I don’t think I’ll write an album for a long time”, the voice of “Someone like you” had said.
Last night, however, from the stage of the “Adele World” arena, as the area that hosted the ten shows in Munich has been renamed, the singer-songwriter made it known that .Once the last ten dates of “Weekends with Adele” in Las Vegas are archived, she will disappear from the radar. Adele then bid farewell to the European spectators in tears, on the notes of the same “Someone like you”:
Adele’s residency in Munich, which began on August 2nd, was a success. A total of 740 thousand spectators bought a ticket for one of the ten shows.. The shows saw Adele perform every night in front of 74 thousand spectators. Clemens Baumgärtner, head of economic affairs of Munich, announced that Adele’s shows brought 566 million euros in revenue to the city through restaurants, hotels, trains and more. The singer-songwriter also entered the Guinness World Record thanks to the screen on the stage, which with its 220 meters of length has been certified as the largest giant screen in an open-air arena of all time.
The scenography and creative direction of the shows was handled by Florian Wieder, a German excellence who with his visions has made the performances of U2, Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé, Robbie Williams, Rammstein legendary, has worked several times at Eurovision, has curated the opening shows of mega sporting events such as the 2022 World Cup, in addition to having already worked in the past with the British artist.
Adele will resume her Las Vegas residency on October 25, ending on November 23.
