AC/DC: here are the last 6 gold vinyl records for the 50th anniversary
After the success of the first 15 reissues which conquered the ranking of the best-selling physical albums in Italy, from today, Friday 27 September, the last 6 legendary AC/DC records on limited edition gold vinyl are also available (Columbia Records/Legacy Recordings – they can be purchased at this link, on the official store), on the occasion of 50 years of career of the iconic rock’n’roll band: “Flick Of The Switch”, “Fly On The Wall”, “Blow Up Your Video”, “Black Ice”, “Live At River Plate” and their latest “Power Up” release.
In the exclusive reissues, the gold-colored LPs are accompanied by a different 12″x12″ poster for each album with the new AC/DC 50 graphics, perfect for collecting and framing.
FLICK OF THE SWITCH – The self-produced album saw the band return to the rawer sound of their early records. Songs like Bedlam In Belgium And Nervous Shakedown they still remain a fan favorite today, 40 years later.
FLY ON THE WALL – This 1985 album was the first produced exclusively by Angus and Malcolm Young. It was accompanied by a video of the same name, which featured the band playing five tracks from the album in a club full of shady characters and an animated fly, like the one depicted on the album cover.
BLOW UP YOUR VIDEO – Initially released in 1988 and recorded in London and the south of France, the album contains the UK hit single Heatseeker and rock success in the United States That’s The Way I Wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll.
BLACK ICE – Released in the autumn of 2008, the album saw the band working with producer Brendan O’Brien for the first time. They have since also collaborated on Rock Or Bust in 2014 and Power Up in 2020. Black Ice it was AC/DC’s first album to reach number 1 in the UK since Back In Black and their first No. 1 in the US since For Those About To Rock.
LIVE AT RIVER PLATE – Recorded, along with a live film directed by David Mallet, on December 4, 2009 during the second of three sold-out shows at River Plate Stadium in Sao Paolo, Argentina, during the Black Ice Tour, in front of a crowd of over 60,000 people.
POWER UP – AC/DC’s latest album, released in November 2020, six years after the previous one. Enthusiastically received by fans and critics, it topped the charts in 21 countries, and the resulting European tour was a great success. AC/DC’s Power Up Tour 2024 brought the band to perform in front of over 1.3 million enthusiastic fans across Europeincluding a sold out date Italy at the RCF Arena in Reggio Emilia (organized by Barley Arts) and two evenings at the legendary Wembley Stadium in London.
