A song for the summer “The surfing army” by Catherine Spaak
The surfing army (1964) – Catherine Spaak is an actress established with different films in the curriculum (with Lattuada, Pietrangeli, Comencini, Scola, Salce), when someone invites her to dare also in the music field: an opportunity that will bear fruit beyond the most rosy expectations. Mostly they are delicate songs, Diafane (“those of my age”), but there is also an unsettling song, which flies on the thread of the involuntary demented, at the hands of Mogol, head of the text, and Iller Pataccini, author of the music. And that’s okay, that’s okay:
“We are the youngest young people / you are the army / army of surfing / … Dance with me / Dance with me / then it will pass you.”
This news is, for a kind concession of the author and the publisher, by “linked to a grain of sand”, written by Enzo Gentile and published by Melampo Editore.
