A song for the summer: “Five minutes and then” by Maurizio

Five minutes and then … (1968) – Maurizio Arcieri is a sort of sex symbol and, first from the ranks of the Milanese New Dada, a valid group of local beat, therefore as a soloist, it makes the massacre of female hearts, bringing to success also various songs, especially foreigners ‘cover’. With the New Dada, who will have the honor-tore to open the Italian concerts of Beatles (1965) and Rolling Stones
(1967) Thanks to the generous resourcefulness of the manager-business Leo Wachter, Maurizio explores the repertoire of artists such as Searches, Kinks, James Brown, Fats Domino, Lloyd Price, the Stones themselves, for a version of “Lady Jane”. The most messy, confused career on his own will be different, among original compositions, other translations (from Spencer Davis Group, Who, Vanilla Fudge, Blood, Sweat & Tears), cinematographic commitments and attempts in other directions: a slalom of shapes and content that will lead him from the end of the seventies to further transformation in the Christ (or Krism), founded with wife Cristina Moser, between
electronics, new wave and post-punk. Worlds far from “five minutes and then …” – melodramatic effect, marked by time – participating in the disc for the summer without great effects,
But finds later redemption in hit parade:

“Five minutes and a jet will start / take away from me / five minutes for us / then you will also leave / … just a minute between us / look that you give me / … they call a name you are you / go ‘, never turn to you again / how much sky among us, it is the end even if / you have sworn me that you will return to me!”

This news is, for a kind concession of the author and the publisher, by “linked to a grain of sand”, written by Enzo Gentile and published by Melampo Editore.
