A night of movies and sun

The last concert of Guitarricadelafuente At the Movistar Arena there was something of farewell and déjà vu. The artist has just closed the tour of “Spanish Leather” right on the same stage that he already stepped on a year ago. After having been to that first concert, several questions were in the air before the show: Would the setlist have changed? Would you repeat that impressive scenery? And, above all, would you sing “La Nieve”? The answer came between sand, golden boots and a staging that, at times, made us forget that we were watching a concert. “It looks like a movie,” some of the attendees commented while watching the show.

For the night of Friday, October 2, there was a lot of expectation. With the premiere of “The Black Ball” of Los Javis, Álvaro Lafuente is, without a doubt, in one of the most important moments of his career. During the last few months, the one from Benicàssim has combined the stages of Spanish theaters and festivals with filming sets and film locations in Burgos, Granada and different parts of northern Spain.

The artist has already told the media that Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo chose him not only to provide music for the film, but also because of his acting abilities, which they had discovered in his different video clips. Certainly, this gift, despite never having studied Interpretation, is also evident during his concerts. Because, if there is something that is indisputable, it is that the camera loves this boy.

The very close-up shots, the perfectly coordinated camera movements and those deep looks that he casts at certain moments in the songs accompany an acting that has become another part of the show. With her glitter pants and her gold boots “Spanish Leather”Guitarrica toured every corner of the stage, although, in a more intimate way compared to October 2025: without a dance team and, in many of the songs, without a band. Just him and his guitar, like in the beginning. There was, however, an element that was very present in that first concert and that appeared again in the last one, although this time in a more symbolic way. The now iconic wooden colt was seen almost at the end of the show.

And, like other great shows that have been seen this year -especially Rosalía’s-, the concert by Guitarricadelafuente It has something of a play. There is a first act, a second and a third, and each one fulfills its function within a story that is perfectly thought out.

The first starts with “Full Time Papi”, “Calypso” and “Futuros Amantes”, and then travels to the beginning of his career and recovers that song with which he began to make a name for himself in the industry in 2018. After receiving a rejection from Noemí Galera, Lafuente uploaded Conticinio to the platforms, with a marked folk character, recorded with a SingStar microphone and accompanied only by his guitar and his voice. The real boom would come later, with Nanita Triste, along with the former triumphant Natalia Lacunza.

The repertoire continued covering practically all the songs from their EP, from “Poses” and “Mataleón” to “Pipe Dream”, combined with some of their greatest hits, such as “ABC” or “Guantanamera”. Arrived at the halfway point, he performed the first song that emerged for the album, which that night also acquired a different meaning. “This song is called Puerta del Sol. It goes to all the people who are there now.”

With this topic and with another subsequent gesture, Guitarrica made his position clear regarding what is happening with the housing crisis. If in the first concert at the Movistar Arena it was Penélope Cruz who appeared on screen just before “Porto Pelegrí”, this time it was the activist Samantha Hudson who took over, connecting from the Sol camp. “Not being there is giving me so much FOMO,” she acknowledged. He then encouraged the audience not to limit themselves to enjoying the concert, but also to save energy for the demonstration, even indicating the time and place. The response from the stands was immediate.

The setlist barely changed compared to the Madrid concert in 2025. There was only one addition and, as it could not be otherwise, it was related to The Black Ball. “La Nieve”, the song that is part of the film’s soundtrack, played before more than 15,000 people, accompanied by a nod to his character, Sebastián: the trumpet, an instrument that the artist learned to play specifically for the film. When he finished, the audience responded with a standing ovation. It didn’t reach the 20 minutes it received in Cannes, but the feeling was, if possible, even more special.

During the night, Los Javis was also missed, who were present at that first Movistar Arena. In exchange, one of the most recognizable scenes from his concerts was repeated: all his friends dancing Agua y Mezcal. Among them, some of her filming partners, such as Miguel Bernardeau or Carlos González, and other well-known faces, such as Begoña Vargas.

By the end, Guitarrica changed register again. Dressed in his black leather pants, he appeared at the top of what looked like a balcony to perform Tramuntana and Babieca!, among confetti and an emotion that could be felt both among the audience and on the stage. And when it seemed like everything was over, the last gift of the night arrived. At the insistence of the attendees, Guitarricadelafuente He picked up the guitar again and, out of repertoire, played “Sixtinain.”
