A new legal entity for the return of radioheads?
Monday 10 March (as reported by NME), the members of Radiohead They constituted a limited liability company (LLP) with the name of Rheuk25, which has already happened in the past which had followed the artistic activity.
The LLPs allow Radiohead to manage their business independently, beyond the Fu8ori of the logic of record labels and external companies. The band did not provide more information about what this legal move could mean, but looking at the prospects, prospects are created.
The band’s latest album was “A Moon Shaped Pool”, published in May 2016, a few months after the Dawn Chorus LLP recording (as reported by Rockol Read here). More recently, they did the same with the spin with a grin llp, which arrived six months before the announcement of the reprint of “Kid a Mnesia” in 2021, and the Self Help Tapes LLP in 2022, before the announcement of the debut album of The Smile.
All five members of Radiohead – Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Colin Greenwood, and O’Brien and Philip Selway – are listed as members in the Rheuk25 LLP.
The Radiohead operates independently since they separated from the Emi/Parlophone after “Hail to the Thief” of 2003. In 2007 they founded Xurbia Xendless before publishing “in Rainbows” in the innovative “pay what you want” format through their website. That album and subsequent releases were managed in physical formats in collaboration with XL Recordings.
In recent times the band has been typically shy about his future projects. Last year Yorke made news saying that “he doesn’t give a shit” if fans want radioheads to return. When the Australian Double J asked him what he thought of speculation about the band’s future, he replied: “I’m not aware of it and I don’t give a fuck”.
“Without offense for anyone and thanks for your interest,” he continued. “But I think we earned the right to do what makes sense for us without having to give explanations or respond to someone else’s historical idea about what we should do.”
Recently, on the occasion of the release of his new photographic book “How To Speppear”, the bassist Colin Greenwood said (Read here): “We gathered in the summer for a couple of days and we listened to all the songs, resuming from where we left in 2018. It was really fun and nice to see everyone. We intended to do three or four days, but we decided to do only two because it was fine and we could still do it. My brother said they would have been enough there a couple of weeks of evidence and we would have been able to leave, without any problems. Brother was badly and is still recovering. I know “.
In this regard, Jonny Greenwood said he found the “fun and natural” tests, but he added that “there are no plans” for something linked to Radiohead in 2025, since members are concentrated on “individual projects”.
In the meantime, at the beginning of this week, Yorke And Mark Pritchard They announced their first complete album together. “Tall Tales” will be released on May 9 via Warp and include the individual “This Conversation is missing your Voice” and “Back in the game”.
