Josh Freese fired by Foo Fighters

A new Foo Fighters EP was out surprising

A new EP of the Foo Fighters has come out surprising: it represents the first publication of Dave Grohl and members in two years, as many as they have passed by “But here we are”, the album released in 2023. It is a collection of lives recorded live entitled “Are Playing Where ???? Vol. 1”, with the specific one on the volume that suggests the arrival of further volumes. The tracks were recorded during the surprise concerts that the band kept in the United States in September. The EP is available exclusively on Bandcamp and the proceeds will be donated to local beneficial associations engaged in the fight against food insecurity in San Luis Obispo and Santa Ana, in California, Washington, DC and New Haven, in Connecticut, the four cities in which the concerts were held. You can listen to – and buy – the EP at this link.

The shows last month marked the debut of the new drummer Ilan Rubin, after the chat exit by Josh Freese’s stage, who had joined the Foo Fighters on the tour following the disappearance of Taylor Hawkins, and who in turn went to play in the Nine Inch Nails. Rubin made his debut in a show announced at the last minute at the Fremont Theater, in front of 900 people and with tickets sold directly in the cashier, at the low price of about $ 30. Then he commented: “He couldn’t have gone better.” In the post on Instagram, the drummer added: “After remaining on the sidelines for a couple of rather intense months and I threw myself headlong into the material, the first show was an incredible relief of energy. I was struck by all the positivity and support received, and I just wanted to say thanks! I am enthusiastic throughout the volume and the sweat that await us”.
