Carabanchel rehearsals will bring together fourteen emerging bands
Ensaya Carabanchel will celebrate the final concert of its fifth edition on November 29 with a day dedicated to emerging music in The Movistar Arena Roomstarting at 12:00 p.m. The event will bring together the bands that have participated in this initiative, promoted by the Madrid City Council and organized by the Carabanchel Cultural District Association. Admission will be free and can be obtained through Baila.fm.
The bands that will perform will be Aknia, Sons of King Kong, Barloventia, Ruido Primate, The Same Way, Ele B, Mango Nectar, Café Polar, Mono Cuchillo, Candace, Santana Motor, Jota Ke Iberikal Punk, Amy Plim and Grammoka.
The meeting will put the finishing touch to several months of work in which the selected groups have had artistic accompaniment, training and resources to advance their musical projects. Participants have had access to mentoring and training activities, as well as spaces to repair their repertoires. Rehearsals have been held in venues in the district such as Rockland, Matilda and Madreams, and the program includes the professional recording of a song by each band.
The initiative has its origins in Gruta77, from a proposal promoted by Juan Luis Nietoknown as “El Indio”, to support local gangs and facilitate their access to resources and opportunities. Carabanchel has nearly 300 spaces dedicated to rehearsal, an infrastructure that has contributed to consolidating a community of musicians and professionals.
