‘Bravos’ is Children’s debut full-length

“This is for me, I want to be happy”they launch Children in “Summer days”one of the emblematic themes of “Bravos”the band’s debut album. An album that comes after a few years of unbridled madness pushing the project and fighting to materialize the dream of music. “Bravos” It is presented as a generational discourse about how to learn to live with the person you end up becoming over time. With the good and bad things that entails, of course, because no one is perfect. A project that goes through the band members’ mid-thirties crisis to showcase authenticity, accumulated years of therapy, the ability to laugh at oneself and the importance of losing weight to fly high.

As we expected, in “Bravos” There is a lot of sense of humor and a quite critical vision of that side of the world that sometimes puts us on the edge and immerses us in continuous incomprehension. As they say in “The wall”this album appears because of the need we have for a “host of reality” that makes us wake up, takes away our fear of risk and gives us hope that in the future there must also be good things waiting for us. That not everything can be a black cloud of egos, narcissism, toxicity and excessive ambition dominated by a group of cryptobros who do nothing but clone and multiply as if they were taken from a factory (“Gain”).

Under the control of Dani Belenguer (Bearoid) in production, “Bravos” It captures very well that speed, that punk nerve, anguish, mental chaos and uncertainty of the lives of its members. And perfect examples of this are that obsessive, simple and direct mantra that is “Your face.” Or, on the other hand, that vomiting of shameful events in a loop as a cathartic closure that is “I can’t stop thinking about it”. But, there is also room to become softer, get a little more serious and break some labels that have been around since the band came to light. Labels where they are pigeonholed as a group with superficial DNA that lives very well taking refuge in the ridiculousness of human beings and sticking their neck out for it (“The big problem”). That’s why topics like “The house” open the sound universe of Children and makes them expand towards a new path of possibilities that until now had not been considered. A song that talks about the capacity for self-criticism, responsibilities, maturity, suffocation, mistakes. Of feeling that things change, that nothing will be the same and that you are partly to blame for that being so.

Children With this album they have found a vehicle to move forward with total security, relying on everything that represents them as people and as artists. Efficient, guitar players, agile. “Bravos” It is on the one hand the closing of a laboratory stage of ideas to finally find a clear identity as a band and on the other hand a very interesting starting point for the formalization and definitive professionalization of a project that, although it may not seem like it, is becoming more and more serious.
