Enter Shikari have confirmed their plans to go on an indefinite hiatus at the end of 2027. The news comes after the singer Rou Reynolds Last month he published a video explaining the group’s lack of activity in 2026, in which he said that he was going through a stage of exhaustion, OCD and nervous system sensitization that had brought his capacity to zero.
The group have since published a lengthy letter to their fans on social media detailing their next steps, after announcing several intimate warm-up concerts this month ahead of their major UK and European tour in November. In the statement, the band explains that they have no plans beyond the end of next year, when they will take a break, without knowing if it will end with a comeback or end the group. They highlight that in 2027 it will be twenty years since the publication of their debut album “Take To The Skies”.
The band points out the impact that maintaining touring activity has on mental health, although they assure that they continue doing it for the love of music. They explain that, although they do not believe they are breaking up, they have no agenda beyond 2027, and that they want to turn this coming year into a celebration of what the band means to them before stopping for a season to explore who they are outside of Enter Shikari. Regarding next month’s tour, they have proposed that it be the best possible, aware that it could be the last time that some fans see them live.
The group has also announced that they are working on new music, which they hope to share soon, along with another project that they have already finished recording. Looking ahead to 2027, they have festival dates booked in continental Europe and North America, and plan to announce concerts in the United States in January, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of “Take To The Skies“, the tenth of “The Spark” and the fifteenth of “A Flash Flood Of Color”.
