Emak Bakia return with “U”, their first novelty in twenty-three years
Emak Bakia publishes “U”, second preview of “A Thousand Loops of Samba Graffiti”the group’s return after twenty-three years without releasing new music. The duo, formed by Abel Hernandez Pozuelo and Yturriaga Coketwo of the members of Migala with solo careers under names like The Son, peakmood either Num9resumes recording activity by surprise with this album, released by Foehn, Watercolor and Tremolo.
The album brings together three singles published between 2000 and 2001 in remastered versions, along with seven new songs created in the summer of 2026 from improvisation with samples and loops extracted from that original material. “U” is the first of those seven new songs and emerged from the work of Coque and Abel with the materials of their 2001 song “Samba Deçejo”, now available on platforms.
The video clip for “U” is the work of Juan Carlos Roldanvisual artist and musician from Extremadura known for his Roldán project. To do it, he followed the pattern of creating the music, doing his own improvisation with previous visual experiments and analog video effects while listening to the song on a loop.
