RATA fill the Repsol space at Bilbao BBK Live with energy
RATone of the emerging bands with the longest national tour, starred in the Bilbao BBK Live a very special surprise performance by Repsol and Sound World
On July 9, 10 and 11, Bilbao BBK Live celebrated a unique edition on the occasion of its 20th anniversary, once again consolidating itself as one of the most unique festivals on the European scene. Its combination of a first-class musical program with the natural environment of Kobetamendi and the activities spread across different parts of Bilbao once again turned the city into a great meeting point for thousands of music fans.
The presence of Sound World was, for yet another year, beyond the informative coverage it has carried out since the first edition of the festival in 2006. On Thursday, at 7:00 p.m., we organized together with Repsol a very special meeting with RAT. The Murcian duo offered, for the first time, a concert in acoustic format within the framework of the festival, and we had the opportunity to talk with them about their project, their career and their recently released debut album, “I never want to die”.
RAT
Daniel Sabater and Félix Esteban reviewed some of the songs that have turned that first work into one of the revelations of the year and that, in addition, has led them to star on the summer cover of the magazine Sound World. Despite it being a much more intimate and calm format than usual, the audience did not stop chanting songs such as “I want to be me when I grow up”, “Tough guys”, “Drunk”, “Making love” or “God’s favorite”, demonstrating that the energy, intensity and personality of RAT They remain intact in any scenario.
RAT performed before the Bilbao public in an exclusive musical event for visitors to the Repsol Spacean area designed to rest and replenish energy between concerts. Through fun interactions, visitors to this festival refuge could visualize how the energy generated in the Repsol Scenario fed different experiences. A large LED sphere acted as the central element of the space, which also had rest and mobile charging areas, an interactive thermal screen and the Guía Repsol bar, where you could taste Bico de Xeado ice creams.
For the third consecutive year, the Repsol Scenario was the axis of an initiative that seeks to demonstrate how energy innovation can be integrated into large musical events. One hundred percent renewable energy with nearly 160 solar panels and a great novelty: the incorporation of intelligent solar trackers developed specifically for temporary events. Thanks to artificial intelligence, these systems are capable of analyzing the environment and automatically directing the panels towards the areas with the highest energy performance, thus increasing the efficiency of the installation autonomously.
With this project, Repsol converted again Bilbao BBK Live in a full-scale laboratory to test energy solutions also applicable to other large cultural events. A bet based on the contribution of different solutions such as: solar energy; the contribution of 100% renewable fuels for all the festival stages; electric mobility or Nexa diesel of 100% renewable origin for the mobility of those attending Kobetamendi. The objective: to provide all the energy that the festival needs without altering the audience’s experience or the prominence of the music.
