Flea brings his jazz to the Tiny Desk with The Honora Band
We have always known the love of Flea, also bassist of Red Hot Chili Peppers, for jazz. In fact, those were his principles, but he had never immersed himself as much as in what has been his album “Honor”a work in which he shows his talent in that universe, in addition to daring to take Frank Ocean to totally different terrains than expected.
Taking advantage of his tour of small jazz venues, Flea stopped by NPR to star in a concert of the Tiny Desk series. There are twenty-one minutes of performance in which the quintet performs the songs “Traffic Lights”, “Morning Cry” and “A Plea”.
Accompanying the bassist and trumpet player, is The Honora Banda quartet formed by the guitarist Jeff Parker (Tortoise, Isotope 127), saxophonist, keyboardist and producer Josh Johnson (Leon Bridges, Makaya McCraven), bassist Anna Butterss (SML, Boygenius, Aimee Mann) and drummer Deantoni Parks (Kudu, The Mars Volta, Bosnian Rainbows, André 3ooo)
