Cesare Cremonini sings “Vita spericolata” by Vasco in concert
“If you want to make history you have to know it. We respect this place and those who allowed artists like me to dream big to be here”: this is how Cesare Cremonini, last night, in front of 75 thousand spectators at the Enzo e Dino Ferrari racetrack in Imola, presented the homage he decided to pay to Vasco Rossi by performing in an iconic place for the history of the king of Italian rock. The ex Lunapop mentioned “Vita spericolata” on guitar and vocals, in chorus with the 75 thousand spectators. He did it in the place where Vasco Rossi held one of his most memorable concerts in 1998, the one on 20 June 1998 during the Heineken Jammin’ Festival which saw him perform in front of over 130 thousand spectators.
“We are all children of “that” concert. I felt the duty to pay homage to the king of the racetrack”, added Cremonini. Here is the video of the tribute below:
The 1998 concert remains Vasco’s second concert with the highest number of spectators ever: “Modena Park” dethroned him in 2017, with its 225,173 spectators. After that legendary concert in 1998, Vasco returned to perform in Imola on 28 May 2022. For 2027, the year in which he will celebrate his fifty-year career, the rocker from Zocca has announced a series of initiatives in Rome which will culminate with the “Vasco Jubilee”, or a concert residency which, according to rumours, will be hosted by the Olympic Stadium in Rome, where the Komandante will perform for at least ten evenings gathering 500 thousand spectators in total.
