Duffy announces first concert in 15 years
After a very long and painful absence from the scene, the famous Welsh singer Duffy is ready to embrace its audience again. The 41-year-old artist, a true icon of the international music scene at the end of the 2000s, surprised fans by announcing on his social channels his first live concert after 15 years.
The long-awaited return to the stage will take place next July 5th in London. However, it will not be the classic large stadiums that the singer was used to at the height of her success: Duffy herself has specified that it will be an extremely “intimate” concertdesigned for a very limited audience.
To manage requests and ensure fair access, the organization has opted for a particular allocation system: There will be very few places available and fans interested in participating will not be able to purchase tickets directly, but will have to sign up for a draw to try your luck.
The announcement marks a moment of profound rebirth for the singer-songwriter. In 2008, Duffy had conquered the world with his debut album, Rockferrydominating the global charts. However, just three years later, in 2011, he suddenly and quietly withdrew from public life. The mystery behind this interruption was tragically clarified by the artist herself only in 2020. With a touching confession, Duffy revealed that she had suffered a very serious episode of sexual violencea devastating trauma that had forced her to put not only a brilliant career, but her entire life on hold.
The return to live music is not the only news for the singer. Just a few weeks ago, Duffy revealed that he had taken part in a new documentary project. Through this film, the artist will retrace the stages of his extraordinary musical journey and, with enormous courage, will also address the delicate topic of the violence he suffered, telling his story and his path to recovery.
