The Rino Gaetano Day will be held in Rome on June 2nd
On June 2, Rome returns to pay homage to one of its most beloved artists with the sixteenth edition of Rino Gaetano Day. The event, which has become a fixed appointment in the capital’s calendar, will be held at the Rino Gaetano Arena Park (III Municipality), a few steps – as the crow flies – from the house where the singer-songwriter lived.
On the 45th anniversary of the death of Rino Gaetano, the event confirms itself as a national gathering capable of attracting thousands of enthusiasts from all over Italy. The event, organized with the support and patronage of the Department of Major Events, Sport, Tourism and Fashion of Rome Capital and in collaboration with the Municipality of Rome III, with the support of SIAE, is part of the program of Viteculture, winner of the Public Notice Roma Creativa 365 in collaboration with Zètema Progetto Cultura and with the support of Nuovo Imaie, and is conceived by Anna Gaetano with the coordination of Alessandro Gaetano and Miranda Shkurtaj.
The 2026 edition is part of the program of shows of the Viteculture festival. In the same area, the shows and initiatives will continue with the ARCI Roma Incontra il Mondo festival.
From around 5.30pm, the park will come alive with live music and moments of reflection:
Opening: the initial space will be curated by Lunatika Factory, Giulia Massarelli’s female artistic movement, with performances by Maria Faiola, Lara Dei, La Noce and Alessandra Rugger, to enhance the new female singer-songwriter scene promoted through the national contest “Permette Signorina”
8.00 pm, The event will be opened by institutional greetings from Alessandro Onorato, Councilor for Major Events, Tourism, Sport and Fashion of Rome.
This year too, the event will be hosted by the TV presenter and author Metis Di Meo.
The Talk, among the central moments of the 2026 edition and social commitment. Starting from the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the album “My brother is an only son”, a work that addresses issues of social inclusion, the talk will address the fight against violence against women and cultural change, with a focus on female emancipation in the artist’s lyrics. The initiative takes place in collaboration with the Una Quale Centomila Foundation.
Finally, the talk will offer a key to understanding Rino Gaetano’s work, highlighting the recurrence of female figures in his texts: over thirty names of women, autonomous, ironic and emancipated.
From 9.00 pm, the stage will be held by the Rino Gaetano Band, the official formation led by his nephew Alessandro Gaetano together with Michele Amadori, Alberto Lombardi, Ivan Almadori, Fabio Fraschini and Marco Rovinelli, who have been committed for years to preserving and reinterpreting the singer-songwriter’s repertoire live. Together with them, numerous guests will interpret the singer-songwriter’s successes in unreleased versions: Giulia Mei, Danielle, Davide De Luca, Diana Tejera, Vanessa Cremaschi, Artù, Fasma and Primogenito.
Rino Gaetano Day 2026 will be broadcast live on the official radio station of the event Rai Radio Tutta Italiana.
