Pitura Freska, “Pin Floi” becomes a video game
For tens of thousands of people it was an unrepeatable event: one of the greatest bands in the history of rock against the unique backdrop of Piazza San Marco. It was July 1989 when Pink Floyd played in Venice with a concert destined to become legend.
But not everyone managed to experience it up close. There were also those, like Sir Oliver Skardy, who remained bottled up in the crowd that paralyzed the city, and were unable to reach Piazza San Marco, but who were able to draw inspiration from that chaotic evening: thus was born the idea of an ironic chronicle of that unlucky evening, “Pin floi” by Pitura Freska, which over time became an anthem for fans of the Venetian reggae group.
35 years after its publication on the “Ossigeno” cassette, Sir Oliver Skardy celebrated that episode in 2025 by recording the song with a new arrangement.
This year the new version was also released on a collectible 45 rpm single, numbered and autographed, together with “11 Leoni (Tormenton forza Union)”, the song dedicated by Sir Oliver Skardy to the Venezia FC fans, which can only be purchased on the official website www.skardy.it and is now running out.
From that song, today “Sir Oliver Skardy Pin Floi – the videogame” also comes to life, a free online video game inspired by the legendary arcades of the 80s, from Mario Bros. on down. The adventure retraces the salient moments of that unforgettable Venetian night, among rivers of people, mountains of rubbish and beautiful girls.
By passing the various levels, exclusive archive images are unlocked (courtesy provided by Andrea Pattaro, Marco Sabbadin of VeneziaVision and Alberto Durgante of FLoydseum), and the three best scores in the ranking on 18 July, Redeemer Day 2026, will receive Skardy’s latest vinyl, autographed, and his biography.
To play you don’t need to download anything, just connect from any device to www.skardy.it/pinfloi
The video game was created by Adolfo Zilli, creative, computer scientist, musician, videomaker, who had already created the video clip of Battiato’s cover “Centro di Gravity Permanente” for Sir Oliver Skardy.
