Mick Jagger will star in Alice Rohrwacher’s new film

There’s a special actor in Alice Rohrwacher’s new film, “Three incestuous sisters”: it’s Mick Jagger. The Rolling Stones frontman has agreed to star in the film which marks the director’s return three years after “The Chimera”. Filming with Jagger is taking place today in the Aeolian Islands: the singer, as reported by La Repubblica, arrived on the island last night by helicopter. In the film he plays the lighthouse keeper of Strombolicchio, father of Kyo, the boy played by the British actor Josh O’Connor around whom the restless desire of the three sisters protagonists of the film gathers, in whose roles there are Jessie Buckley, fresh from the Oscar for best actress for “Hamnet”, Dakota Johnson and Saoirse Ronan. After a few scenes, the character played by Jegger dies: his death is mysterious, almost like a sea ghost that remains with the characters and the island. Jagger tours today and tomorrow, then leaves the Aeolian Islands.

Jagger is expected to remain in Stromboli until May 21st, when the scenes involving him will conclude. The leader of the Stones is a guest in a private villa in the Pisicità area. The film is expected to be released in theaters between 2027 and 2028.
