Paul McCartney: 10 favorite songs of all time (not his)

During a long interview granted to BBC Radio2, which will be broadcast on Monday 25 May for the “Tracks of My Years” format, Paul McCartney revealed the titles of his 10 favorite songs of all time, among those not written by him. Recalling his childhood, recalling his earliest musical memories and talking about the artists who shaped his love of music, the former Beatle chose the 10 songs he would take with him to an imaginary desert island. These:

Gene Vincent – “Be-bop-a-Lula”

Chuck Berry – “Maybelline”

Buddy Holly – “That’ll Be The Day”

Elvis – “All Shook Up”

The Kinks – “You Really Got Me”

The Human League – “Don’t You Want Me”

Prince – “Kiss”

Bob Dylan – “Mr. Tambourine Man”

The Beach Boys – “God Only Knows”

John Lennon – “Imagine”

Paul McCartney will release his new album of unreleased songs, “The boys of Dungeon Lane” on May 29th. The album was preceded by the single “Home to us”, the first duet ever recorded with former bandmate Ringo Starr.
