Bruce Springsteen and John Densmore together for “Light my fire”

The day before yesterday, i.e. Saturday 18 April, Bruce Springsteen he joined the drummer of Doors, John Densmorefor a version of “Light My Fire” (in the video below you can see it starting from minute 14.30) to American Music Honorsan annual event organized by Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center held at Monmouth University of New Jersey.

THE Doors were among the honored artists and Springsteen joined Densmore, at the trust Steve Van Zandt guitarist of And Street Band and the house band of Disciples Of Soul for a beautiful interpretation of the 1967 classic by the Californian band. “There’s no one in the room tonight who’s in danger of filling Jim Morrison’s leather pants,” he joked Bruce Springsteen to the audience after going on stage.

still alive, during the course of the evening the 81-year-old drummer, among other words, said: “The Doors played in Asbury Park, and guess who was in the audience? The Boss! Hey, if our music helped Bruce meet his wife, then I’m behind the times”, referring to the fact that Springsteen’s wife,

apparently also attended the 1968 Doors concert on the Jersey shore. “Apparently it worked. They’ve been together for a while. So long that maybe Patty is the Boss.”
