AC/DC, Stevie Young hospitalized after a concert
AC/DC guitarist Stevie Young was admitted to hospital following a recent concert in South America. According to the Reuters news agency, a spokesperson said: “Out of an abundance of caution, he was admitted to a local hospital in Buenos Aires, where is subjected to a comprehensive series of tests“. He added:
“Stevie is doing well and is in good spirits. He can’t wait to get back on stage on Monday.”
At the moment noIt is not known what the nature of the illness is which affected the sixty-nine year old Stevie Young, who joined AC/DC in 2014, after Malcolm Young – who later passed away in 2017 – was diagnosed with dementia. He had already played with the band, led by Malcolm and his brother Angus Young, in 1988 during a tour of the United States, replacing Malcolm himself. Stevie played on the 2014 album “Rock or bust”, but was officially recognized as a stable member of the group only later in the same year, and participated in the 2015 and 2016 tour, as well as the current “Power Up Tour”, which in Italy took place in 2024 (here our story) and 2025 (here our review).
The Australian band is currently on tour in South Americawhere she recently performed in Santiago, Chile and where in the next few days she will hold three concerts in Buenos Aires, Argentina, starting on March 23rd. The last time they played in the city was in 2009.
