The countdown to Sanremo 2026 is increasingly tight and the announcements left to the artistic director and host are less and less in view of the first evening of the Festival. In connection from Ariston with “Domenica In”, in the afternoon of today 22 February Carlo Conti revealed new revelations about the event, scheduled from Tuesday 24 February to Saturday 28 February. Directly from the historic theater that hosts Sanremo, Conti made it clear without mincing words, confirming the rumors of recent weeks, that Olly, winner of the last edition with “Balorda nostalgia”, will open the first evening of the Festival.

In connection with “Domenica In”, Carlo Conti announced: “Last year there was the philosophy of togetherness, this year instead of a party with friends. There is comedy, journalism, it is a festival where the celebration of music must excel more than ever”. Pressed to reveal what the opening of Sanremo 2026 will be like, the host and artistic director declared: “Have I already chosen which song will open the event? Before starting, I would say to take a step back to last year. Am I talking about Olly? Yes, we understand!”.
