Springsteen gave “Born In The USA” to an anti-ICE video
The firm aversion of. has been known for some time now Bruce Springsteen regarding the actions of the president of the United States Donald Trump. It is therefore not surprising that the New Jersey rocker made his classic available “Born In The USA” from 1984 to be used as an audio commentary for a new video against ICE, the US federal agency responsible for monitoring customs and immigration security.
In the video, the Boss can be heard calling for ICE to “get out of Minneapolis,” before showing several situations where ICE agents stop and arrest people. Springsteen can also be heard in the clip saying, “They’re taking residents off America’s streets without due process and deporting them to foreign detention centers and prisons.”
According to the Asbury Park Press,
Bruce Springsteen
authorized for the video the use of various fragments of live footage and comments made from the stage, in concert, in which he openly criticized the immigration policies of
Donald Trump
. All this comes after Springsteen performed his latest protest song live against the actions of ICE,
“Streets Of Minneapolis”
during a charity live event sponsored by the guitarist of
Rage Against the Machine Tom Morello
called
‘Defend Minnesota’
following the deaths last January of two US citizens,
Renee Good
And
Alex Pretti
both shot and killed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
