Kanye West and others at Hellwatt Festival, what’s happening
It all started shortly after 4pm yesterday, February 14, when sales opened for the concert of the American rapper Ye, already known as Kanye Westexpected the July 18th at the RCF Arena in Reggio Emilia for one of the peak dates ofHellwatt Festival (details here). This was a new availability of tickets, which arrived after the first tranche of “early bird” coupons had been put on sale last December 22nd and had sold out quickly. Those who had purchased tickets during the first round noticed that the price was higher than to the current one of the new availability, even if from the various announcements it seemed like it should be the opposite. Due to this situation, in the late afternoon of yesterday, quite a few people raised protests on social media and on the Italian pages dedicated to Ye – Kanye West such as @yeezytalia. controversy from fans who had purchased “early bird” coupons last December.
Following complaints from ticket buyers, around 8pm last night the organizers of the Hellwatt Festival shared a first official note of apology to communicate that they would “refund the difference” informing that the lowering of prices was dictated by the announcement of the rapper’s European dates. The post, published on the official pages of the Festival, was deleted after a few minutes, but this did not stop fans from complaining on social media about the non-existence of the email address communicated for the refund. This was followed by another press release from the Hellwatt Festival, which 7 hours after the first publication is still visible on the event’s Instagram page.
“Dear Customers at Hellwatt, we apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. Please write to us at the following email address and we will find the most suitable solution for each of you or with quick partial refunds based on the value you paid in addition and with upgrades”, reads the latest communication. The email address indicated to write to is: (email protected).
The possibility of leaving comments below the latest Festival publication has been deactivatedbut the public is still expressing their dissatisfaction on other social channels. Following the problems that emerged related to tickets for Kanye West’s single date, various spectators are pouring out their frustration online and many are finding themselves on the Instagram page of @yeezytalia, among others, to share your experiences and complaints. As well as amused messages from who criticizes unprofessionalism of the graphics and communication adopted so far by the festival organizers, the most ferocious comments they even question the credibility of the entire event. Faced with the big names announced by the Hellwatt Festival for its first edition scheduled between July 4th and 18th, it is unthinkable for many that problems such as the one that happened with Kanye West’s tickets would occur, so much so that many are wondering whether the behaviors and solutions proposed are correct or whether the entire project is reliable. The line up of the event, with many names yet to be announced, does not only include Kanye West but it goes from Ozunaa Rita Ora and ai Chainsmokers. The festival has also announced a series of DJ sets for the various days entrusted to leading names such as Lost Frequencies or Martin Garrix. Visiting the websites of the stars announced last February 12th at the press conference, it is interesting to note that the date of the Hellwatt Festival is not present in the current tour calendar of the various artists, or has not yet been included.
While on the Ice Spice website, for example, which according to the announcement should perform at the RCF Arena on July 4th, no dates of any kind have yet been shared, not even for other concerts, the calendar of Rita Ora’s next live dates on her official portal does not (yet) include July 5th in Reggio Emilia. The appointment with them scheduled for July 5th at the Hellwatt Festival also does not yet appear on the Chainsmokers’ website. Martin Garrix and the Lost Frequencies they already have a long list of live commitments scheduled, but on their respective official channels there is no reference to an EDM set scheduled for July 4th at the former Campovolo. The days announced for the Hellwatt Festival are however free from other commitments and many of the artists mentioned, including Wiz Khalifa, have events scheduled in Europe around the announced date, giving hope that the inclusion of the various Italian events in Reggio Emilia are only yet to be communicated by the artists themselves.
While tickets for Kanye West have already gone on sale, for all the other live shows sales open at 4pm on February 18th:
