Talking Heads release a demo of 1975’s “Psycho Killer”.

THE Talking Heads released a rough 1975 demo of their classic “Psycho Killer” – included in the album released in September 1977 “Talking Heads: 77” – as the latest preview of their next archive release, “Tentative Decisions: Demos & Live”.

This is the first time the demo has been available digitally. This is one of the first recordings of the original trio formed by
David Byrne, Chris Frantz
And
Tina Weymouth
. The song features the bassline of the released version, but is missing the guitar work of
Jerry Harrison
added later.

The 1975 demo was recorded at
CBS Studios
during a recording session that produced the first drafts of several other songs from the first two albums
Talking Heads
including
“Don’t Worry About the Government”, “The Book I Read”,
“Thank You for Sending Me an Angel”
And
“Stay Hungry”
.

“Tentative Decisions: Demos & Live”
will be released on March 6th via Rhino Records. Also contains a demo of
“Love Goes to a
Building on Fire”
already published. This collection is the last stage of the long celebration of the 50th anniversary of
Talking
Heads
which included a tribute version of
“Stop Making Sense”
by A24, the first music video by

“Psycho Killer”
and a deluxe edition of their debut album
“Talking Heads: 77”
.
