Salmo, a concert at 2100 meters above sea level: the photos
“I’m from Sardinia, guys, and I’ve never seen something like this.”
There is emotion in Salmo’s voice, who has never performed at 2100 meters above sea level surrounded only by the wonderful snow-capped peaks of the Dolomites. Downstairs, the Cortina Olympics has started to produce its first medals, but up here it’s a world apart. All around there is only snow and silence, before the speakers of the Super G in Cortina, an exclusive high-altitude location inaugurated a few months before the Olympics, break the sacredness of this magical place which usually sees only skiers arriving here.
An intimate concert in numbers: inevitably, given the context. A few hundred people who, just before sunset, met for an après-ski where the power of Salmo’s rap gave life to a show that was certainly not ordinary, without making them regret the challenge of being outdoors at zero degrees to shout the punchlines of this heavyweight of Italian rap.
“I would also like to sing you my latest song, but I wrote it a few days ago and I don’t remember the lyrics” the rapper from Olbia says into the microphone. On the other hand, everyone in the audience knows the words of his hits very well, and they echo throughout the valley, proposed in an impactful sequence. From “90 Minutes” to “1984” via “Short Maps” or “Russell Crowe”. 15 years of consecutive successes. A second part of the DJ set follows, something that Salmo has accustomed his fans to (from Marrageddon to his tours, he reserves a part of the show for playing the decks).
