Sayf and his persuasive “Song without saying”
Sayfthat here on Rockol we started to tell you a few months ago, is one of the emerging ones on which there are more spotlight at this moment. The young Ligurian has a crystalline talent and skilfully rap and melodies, tight stanzas and very open refrains, moments of love, hot and Latin rhythms, light situationsintrospective and committed stories, characterized both by an out of the ordinary depth and sometimes by a pungent lexicon. Passes from the provocations of his freestyle “Sinner” in which it is provocatively a rag “I am fucking a League, great play on the right wing, colonialism of reconquest” at “A Can”, his new single out today, in which he photographs a love story in an existentialist way, exactly like one of his idols, Gino Paoli, of whom he cites “The sky in a room”.
Here he uses sweet but not sweet words, he says he sing “a song with nothing to say”but in reality it is a heartfelt farewell letter, built on a persuasive soundwho has nothing to do with rap, Built by Dibla and Jiz. Sayf, who in these days is engaged in his “Santissima Fest”, a three -day festival, sold out, scheduled in Genoa, with him protagonist together with several guests, is back from the collaboration with Marco Mengoni and Rkomi in the song “I’m fine at the sea”released in mid -June, whose text moves on several levels, starting from a classic summer imagination to get to a disillusioned and current reflection that invites us to think about those who are on the other side of the sea, to those who do not live the expanse of water with the joy that always accompanies the holidays. Sayf sang him together with his two adventure companions also on the San Siro stage On the occasion of the dates of the Mengoni tour.
He also collaborated with Bresh in “Erica”, a song included in his new album “Mediterraneo”, and with Medy in the very recent single “Life amusement”. Objective? Close a new disc within the year. “Blessed”, another reference, such as the name of the Festival, in Santa Margherita, the country where it grew up will be titled. For Sayf all this comes after the publication of his first EP “If God wants”, released last February, with whom he attracted great attention from the public and insiders. The project was anticipated by several singles with thick feat, such as those with Rhove, diveme, elet a, 22simba, kuremino and seethu. What is striking is his contaminated rap-car, emptied by disturbing and violent images, but full of suggestions, loveof “photographs of life, beautiful or ugly that they are”, as it loves to repeat. Could this be the new step of the urban world?
