Walter Foini, for lovers of Italian pop of the seventies

Today the name of Walter Foini it is familiar only to lovers of Italian pop from the seventies; yet for some time the Milanese singer-songwriter (he was born in the Lombardy capital on 23 October 1948, so today is his 76th birthday) was quite popular, and even had a few albums in the charts.

He had started professionally in 1975 after the victory at the Castrocaro Festival, and with “A woman… a story” (which remains his greatest success) had also frequented the top levels of the rankings; in the following years, however, he was unable to maintain the notoriety he had acquired. For those who are curious to know his production, which essentially ceased at the beginning of the 1980s, we publish the songs from his 45s in the following pages.

1975 – In Via dei Giardini

1976 – Crazy and unconscious

1977 – I buy everything

1978 – A woman… a story

1979 – Beauty of August

1979 – Moonface

1981 – I’m not going back
